1. What is the Basement?

Down in the Basement is the principal archive of X-Files slash fan fiction.  The archives before the Basement were Archive/X and MKRA/MSSS and all the stories archived there are now at the Basement.  Presently, fan fiction posted to the X/Story email list is archived unless the author puts DO NOT ARCHIVE in the first few lines of the story.  Additionally, stories posted to various other XF slash lists will be archived if they have "Archive: Basement" or "Archive: Anywhere" in the headers.  Down in the Basement will also archive any stories with significant slash content at the request of the author and occasionally, the archivist may request permission from the author to archive their story.
